Al Philp is an important member of Edge Group’s legal practice with experience in-house and in private practice

Al Philp began his career working at renowned independent Mute Records before moving on to be a talent scout for Chrysalis Records and working in producer management. He retrained as a solicitor qualifying at the west end media law firm The Simkins Partnership and thereafter worked for a number of years at Sanctuary Records Group as a business affairs manager. He joined Edge in 2006 as a non practising solicitor where he continues to specialise in music and entertainment law including advising senior music business executives and is also experienced in fashion, film and general commercial transactions. He has advised clients including Nick Cave, Donovan, Sarah Brightman, the fashion designers Alexander McQueen and Giles Deacon and Michelin-starred chef, author and television personality Giorgio Locatelli.
