Nick Phillips
Nick Phillips was until March 2007 Chairman of Warner Music UK. Phillips began his career in the music industry at the age of 16 at ATV/Northern Songs and quickly worked
his way up in publishing from Talent Acquisition Manager at EMI Music Publishing to Creative Manager at MCA (now known as Universal Music Publishing). In 1991 he was promoted to Managing Director and Vice President of MCA Music International. Two years later he moved from publishing to take over the role of Managing Director of the record division and was later appointed Chairman in recognition of his achievements within the industry. Phillips joined Warner Music UK as Chairman in 1999, responsible
for WEA Records and East West Records. These labels were re-branded in 2004 to become Warner Bros and Atlantic Records where he oversaw the success of two of the biggest selling British artists of the 21st century: singer songwriters David Gray and James Blunt. Phillips was Executive Producer of the Brits 2007 Show, hailed as one of the best BRITs shows ever.
